Hvidovre Civic Centre is an active place for the citizens of Hvidovre. The building contains many different functions that are made available to local organisations, the Culture and Music Council, the Music School and Hvidovre's Main Library.

As part of a master plan for future-proofing Hvidovre Medborgerhus, including optimisation of the indoor climate and energy consumption, Hvidovre Municipality decided in the summer of 2013 to invest in a solar cell system from DanSolar.

Transparent solar panels were installed in connection with the entrance area as a kind of roofing/solar shading.

Hvidovre Municipality purchased a photovoltaic system with transparent solar panels for Hvidovre Civic Centre. The solar panels were mounted above the entrance area as a kind of canopy/solar shading.
